What a skin fade is (and which one suits you)
Low skin fade
Starts just above the ear and neckline. The most conservative option — tidy for work, keeps plenty of weight through the sides.
Mid skin fade
Begins around the temple. The all-rounder — obvious contrast without taking the sides too high, and it grows out evenly.
High skin fade
Taken up near the parietal ridge for maximum contrast with the top. Sharpest look, and the one that needs the most regular upkeep.

How we cut it

We talk it through first
How low you want the fade to drop, how much length stays on top, and how it will grow out over the next three weeks. No guessing.
- Step 2
Clipper work, then the blend
Guards taken down in stages so there are no lines to chase, then the fade is blended out by eye until the change from skin to length is invisible.
- Step 3
Skin at the bottom
Foil shaver or razor down to bare skin at the neckline and around the ears, depending on your hair and skin type.
- Step 4
Line-up and finish
Hairline, temples and neck squared off, then styled dry so you leave seeing exactly how it sits.
